We thank Pastor Everette R. Pierson and First Lady Sandra Pierson of the Resurrection Baptist Church in Washington DC for hosting our April Fellowship. And we are delighted that we will have our final Fellowship meeting before Summer break at the new Mount Paran Baptist Church in Maryland.  Mt. Paran moved from Washington DC to meet the expansion needs of their church family. Our May 19, 2017 Fellowship Host Pastor is Rev. Willie Lawson and First Lady Mattie Lawson. The Mt. Paran congregation now worship at 6413 Old Alexandria Ferry Road in Clinton MD. We are delighted that they have opened their doors to us and look forward to celebrating how God has blessed them.

Please join us for our final meeting before the summer and be part of a historic event.  Our president will preside over our organization as we celebrate its 85th year in service. We are older than our International Association which is celebrating its 77th year!

Don’t forget, during our summer break, the Annual Session of the DC State MWMW will open with the "12 Jewels of the Bible Gala" on Friday evening, June 9, 2017. All are invited to attend. Tickets are $20.  The workshops and the official business meeting on Saturday, June 10, 2017. Tickets for the complete package of weekend activities and meals (including the Gala) are only $70.  If you will not be attending the Annual Session, please consider making a financial donation to the work of the DC State Association. See Sister Mary Wilson or Dr. Marie Quick for more ticket information.

The Annual IAMWMW Conference in Freeport Grande Bahamas from June 18 - 23, 2017 promises to be a fun-filled, casual conference and vacation.  I hope you have completed your Hotel and conference registration.

Whatever you see, hear, or do, simply TRUST GOD.  He alone is able, willing, and ready to help you.  I hope to see you at the May 19th Fellowship hosted by Pastor Willie Lawson and First Lady Mattie Lawson at Mt. Paran Baptist Church in Clinton MD.

Please lift our sisters and their families in prayer.  As we move into our Summer break when many of us will be traveling frequently for conventions, conferences, vacation, and mission work with rumors of war and unrest all around us, remember to simply Trust God. In Thoughts About God Daily Devotionals, Kathy Cheek put it this way:

Trusting God requires us to keep our eyes on Him and not ourselves and circumstances around us.  Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

Trusting God invites us to cast our cares on Him and to know they are safe in His hands. 1 Peter 5:6-7 “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Trusting God will bring us His peace, and His peace will calm our fears. Isaiah 26:3 You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.”

Trusting God takes my shaky faith and strengthens me. I will choose to be unshaken. 1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

Trusting God is letting my faith rest in the One who is unshaken and unchangeable. Malachi 3:6 For I am the Lord, I do not change; therefore, you are not consumed.”  Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.’  James 1:17Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

Be blessed and be a blessing,

Sherl L. Streeter

President, BMWMWA

Our Purpose:

“We promise to strengthen the bonds of friendship; strive towards a wholesome, harmonious, sympathetic, and sisterly relationship among ministers’ wives and widows everywhere, and to practice and uphold the great Christian principles given by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

Our Theme: “Sisters with a Legacy of Love and A Spirit of Service”

“3 Instead of being motivated by selfish ambition or vanity, each of you should, in humility, be moved to treat one another as more important than yourself.  4 Each of you should be concerned not only about your own interests, but about the interests of others as well.  5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.”    Philippians 2:3-5
