SISTER DOROTHY DURHAM WAS HONORED FOR SERVING THE IAMWMW FOR 43 YEARS (1970) AND AS A WIDOW CONTINUES TO BE ACTIVELY INVOLVED WITH THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION. SISTER DOROTHY DURHAM WAS FIRST LADY AT MT SINAI BAPTIST CHURCH IN WASHINGTON DC.

CONGRATULATIONS TO SISTER CATHERINE WHEELER for being recognized as the MINISTER'S WIDOW WHO BEGAN HER JOURNEY WITH IAMWMW AS A MINISTER'S WIFE AND HAS CONTINUED HER ACTIVE INVOLVEMENT AS SHE TRANSITIONED TO BEING A WIDOW. SHE HAS BEEN A MEMBER SINCE 1977. SISTER WHEELER WAS THE FIRST LADY OF VERMONT AVENUE BAPTIST CHURCH.

On Friday, June 28, 2013, our beloved Sister Viola Elizabeth Jefferson entered into our Father's Kingdom. Sister Jefferson has been a member of the Baptist Ministers' Wives and Widows Association since 1967. She will be funeralized on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Corinthian Baptist Church, Bishop James L. Martin, Sr., Officiating.

The Baptist Sisterhood provided an inspirational program, a monetary gift to the staff, and a gift bag to the Seniors at Stoddard Baptist. The preached word was delivered by Minister Ernestine Jones; singing by Sister Bonita Ridley, and Liturgical Dancing by Sister Michelle Holbrook. The Seniors were spirtually moved by the entire program. One of the residences and a long time member of the Interdeminational MWMW Sister Lillie Green played the keyboard during our opening song "He Arose". Baptist ladies attending were Sisters Patricia F. Brown (President), Amy Alexander (Past President), Jessie Fox, Bonita Ridley, Michelle Holbrook, Madlean Lewis, Mattie Lawson, Sherry Alexander, Julia Williams, and Gloria Williams. Husbands attending were Pastor Aubrey Lewis (provided the closing prayer) and Pastor Winston Ridley.
One of our charitable organization..."SOME" Director of Development Linda Parisi was presented with a check from the Baptist Ministers' Wives and Widows Assn on Friday, February 15, 2013. Mr. Michael Grant thanks our organization for our support.

Saturday, November 10, 2012 is designated as Bouey-Gayton Outreach Day to plan an outreach activity of interest to recruit new members, as well as plan an activity to encourage/maintain
BMWWA Mattie Lawson invited Pastor LLoyd Nolon Fox & First Lady Shelia Fox of Enon Baptist Church, Washington DC. First Lady Fox is our prospective new member of the Baptist Ministers' Wives and Widows of Washington DC & Vicinity in recognition of Bouey-Gayton Outreach Day. Further, the Baptist ladies celebrated the day with the Baltimore, Maryland Sisterhood. God blessed us with warm sunshine, good food, great entertainment and loving fellowship.
On July 22, 2012, Sister Celeste Cole was a contestant in a pageant (American Classic Woman of the Year 2012. She was 2nd Place Winner). She was also asked to perform at the National Capitol Baptist Convention Ministers’ Wives & Widows Convocation Service on Friday, September 14, 2012 at 6:30pm at Bright Light Baptist Church.

The Baptist Ministers' Wives and Widows Association of Washington, DC & Vicinity, Inc., honored our founder, Elizabeth Coles Bouey by contributing a variety of fruit, meat and vegetables can goods in support of stocking the pantry shelves at the Edgewood Baptist Church in Southeast Washington DC (Rev Frankey Grayton, Pastor). Every week Deaconess Lanier and her committee serve the southeast community with fresh produce and other nutritious food. Sisters: Mrs. Dorothy Durham (Mt. Sinai Baptist Church), Mrs. Cora Jackson (Gethsemane Baptist Church) and Mrs. Pat Brown (Christian Love Baptist Church) were among those who donated time to support our International President Glover's theme "Let's Stop Hunger in Our Community". Event day April 17, 2012.
Our Beloved Sister, Bernies S. Green went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 30, 2011. She was a very dedicated member of the Baptist Ministers' Wives and Widows Assn, Inc.
